I enjoy waking up bright and early on Christmas to make most of Christmas itself after the long build up throughout December! I will usually wake up around 8-8:30, get dressed in a comfy Christmas jumper and have breakfast. Me and my siblings usually wake up much earlier than our parents so we have to spend a while occupying ourselves with various Christmas films and specials.
When my parents get up we start opening our presents from our Santa sacks, they always film us opening our presents to look back on even if my siblings do get a little impatient! We open our presents first before giving presents to our parents and or any family who are around. I love giving presents to my parents and siblings, as it takes me a while to decide what to get them.
After opening our presents we will usually start watching the various Christmas specials on TV at the time such as the Doctor Who, Call the Midwife etc and the Queen’s speech on later in the day. We then start preparing Christmas lunch which we have later in the afternoon. We usually have Turkey, roast potatoes, cranberry sauce, Brussels sprouts, broccoli and carrots. We will usually have either a home made Christmas pudding or another variation of cake. Like most other families, we pull a lot of Christmas crackers and eat an abundance of food.
After lunch we watch more Christmas specials usually older ones such as Father Ted, Mrs Browns Boys and any other various DVD’s we got given at Christmas. We sometimes will go for a walk or just spend more time with family, using our various new presents.
I hope you found this post interesting! Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year for 2018!
